Missouri Abortion Laws

Wondering if abortion is an option for your pregnancy? If you live in Missouri, the answer is likely no. When Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022, states across the country began to update and review their abortion laws.

The state of Missouri passed the Right to Life of the Unborn Child Act in 2019, and it came into full effect with the removal of Roe v. Wade. This act prohibits any abortion, with the only exception being a medical emergency for the life of the mother.

What Are My Options?

With abortion off the table, women still have two viable options to consider: adoption and parenting.

Adoption

Choosing adoption has many benefits for the birth mother. Adoption allows women to continue the life they planned after their pregnancy has come to term. In working with an adoption agency, birth mothers will also receive financial support to help offset the costs of carrying a pregnancy to term.

However, one of the most rewarding parts of adoption is knowing you’ve chosen a life of love and stability for your child.

Parenting

Most parents would agree that stepping into the role of caretaker is initially overwhelming. However, with the proper education and support, choosing to parent can be the most rewarding decision of your life.
